Ruddy Panus (Panus rudis)

We had a large oak cut down last year and the long sections
of the trunk ‘stored’ in the field. Short sections were brought in to be cut
for firewood. Some sections remained at the end of winter. Ruddy Panus mushrooms appeared on a couple of
sections; these won’t be headed for the wood pile this Fall.
