Indian Strawberry (Duchesnea indica)

A strawberry.

The Indian Strawberry is native to Asia. In the United States, it grows widely in the California, Oregon, Washington and the eastern states. In Canada, it grows in British Columbia and Ontario.
Genetic studies suggest that the genus Duchesnea should be included in the genus Potentilla; this would mean that this species would be renamed Potentilla indica. At the moment, however, this plant is still recognized as Duchesnea indica.
