Dragonfly: Common Baskettail (Epitheca cynosura)

On April 10th, I walked into a clearing on an ‘inland’ trail behind segments 3-4 and was greeted by 4-5 dragonflies flying around wildly and settling occasionally. I encountered the same thing at another clearing along this trail where it opened at the south end of the dam. I managed to get some shots. Within a week they had ‘spread out’ along the trail, established their territories and were patrolling very actively.
