Pale Beardtongue (Penstemon pallidus)

Penstemon pallidus is known by the common names Pale Beardtongue or Eastern White Beardtongue. At Fort Yargo State Park, I saw a large patch along the slope of the dam on the lake side (segment 5) and a smaller patch on segment 14. These photos were taken on segment 14.

Penstemon pallidus (Pale Beardtongue) is native to the eastern United States and Canada. In the United States, it grows from Minnesota east to Maine and south to Florida and Arkansas and Mississippi; is also grows in Kansas. It does not grow in South Carolina or Florida. In Canada, it grows only in Ontario.
