Flowering Spurge (Euphorbia corollata)

Euphorbia corollata is known by the common names Flowering Spurge or Eastern Flowering Spurge. So far, I’ve only seen it at Fort Yargo State Park where I’ve seen several plants along segments 2 and 14. It will bloom until the Fall. The flowers are about 1/4 inches in diameter but stand out because of their simple structure.

The plant grows about 18 inches tall in our area. In the Spring, it tends to be overgrown by other plants. It is much easier to see in the Fall.

Euphorbia corollata (Flowering Spurge) is native to the eastern United States and Canada. It grows in states including and east of Ontario, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
