The first dragonfly photograph for me this year. Not the first dragonfly I saw. I’d spotted another just north of where I found this one but it wasn’t in the mood to pose for a photograph.
This one – a Blue Corporal (Ladona deplanata) – was sunning itself on a fallen tree trunk in an inlet off the reservoir in Fort Yargo State Park. I was on a bridge above it. No chance to get any closer. This is a better photograph than the one I got at home last year in June.
