Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge: Rosepink (Sabatia angularis)

Plants were in bloom along the roadside and in many open meadows

Hey Joan!
That is such a pretty flower!
I was so exited over the Fire Pink at Panola Mountain that I saw in June. One of the Park Rangers told me that there are lots of them at Kennesaw Mountain.

Thanks Kay. I will have to keep that location in mind. I've only seen Fire Pinks (Silene virginica) in a remote location in the Broad River Wildlife Management Area - and a location I wouldn't want to have to back too :-)
