Prickly Fanpetals (Sida spinosa)

Prickly Fanpetals is also called Prickly Mallow, Prickly
Sida, or False-mallow. Prickly Fanpetals (Sida spinosa) has a pair of stipules ne at the base
of the petiole, the stalk that connects the flower to the stem. These stipules harden with age and become spine-like. The Arrowleaf
Sida (Sida rhombifolia), which is similar to the Prickly Fanpetals lacks these.
