Female Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis)

We see males more frequently than females. Male Blue Dashers are
quite different from the female and it took me a while to identify her. This
female, nervous at first when she was on a live plant, let me get within close
to her when she perched on a dead plant. I was only a few inches from her before I’d
finished photographing.
