At the edge of the woods by the trail along Whitetail Lake, I found a dead tree with its bark stripped from about three to six feet above the ground. The bark had been ‘chipped’ off similar to the way a beaver chips the bark but this was far higher than a beaver would attack.
W and I came to the conclusion that the damage may have resulted from a stag sharpening its antlers. Any other thoughts?
